Big Lick Festival Park is the home of
Hinson¹s Auctions and the Big Lick Antique Festival and Gun & Knife Show.
The park also hosts nationally sanctioned tractor pulls, country flea
markets, the annual Big Lick Bluegrass Festival, and a lumberjack
competition.

Dennis Vineyards is located east of Oakboro
off Highway 24-27. Since beginning to sell to the public in 1998, production
has increased to 75,000 bottles per year. A favorite of most people is the
distinct Carlos white wine. The vineyard offers a wine club and special
festivals throughout the year.

Oakboro¹s Christmas Parade is held on
Thursday after Thanksgiving each year. This night parade draws
families for special rides, entertainment, and Santa Claus. |

Scheduled for the fourth Friday every month, with popular Burn-outs taking
place in April through October, this event
draws thousands to the downtown area.

Oakboro¹s Annual Fourth of July Celebration
celebrates our country with rides, a parade, entertainment. Sponsored by
Oakboro fire and Rescue, the annual event began in 1958.

The Oakboro Presbyterian Church is being
restored to its 1915 state by the museum. It will serve as a community
gathering place and for small weddings and events. |

Oakboro Railroad Museum is being built to
house memorabilia of the heyday years of the railroad. The facility will be
in a park-like setting with walking trails and picnic area. |

The Oakboro Regional Museum of History
provides permanent exhibits about the origin of the town, its people and
institutions. Normally open on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and Thursday from
10-12, group tours can be arranged at any
