Oakboro Presbyterian Church
623
N. Main Street, Oakboro, NC
|
|

Built in 1915, the church was the
first brick church in Oakboro. Decommissioned as a
church in June, 2004, it became the property of the
Oakboro Regional Historical Foundation through generous
gifts from members of the E. O. Ross family. This family
was instrumental in the early founding of the church.
Over the years, the property has
been maintained essentially as it was built with some
alteration in the 50’s. The original pews and altar
remain in the sanctuary.
Plans are to mount an intensive
fund-raising effort to preserve and restore the facility
to as close to the original as possible. |
