The Town Administrator plans, organizes, manages,
directs and implements the goals and objectives of the Mayor and the
Town Board. Services provided are accomplished through department heads
who manage operational details. Duties include short and long range
planning, creating and articulating a vision of excellence for the
organization, establishing human resource management systems that staff
the organization with productive employees, budgetary direction and
guidance, capital improvement planning and working closely with the
Board on major initiatives and priorities. |

Appointed by the Town Council, the Town
Clerk attends all meetings of the council and records official actions.
The Clerk also acts as custodian of all legal documents pertaining to
the Town, prepares and distributes the Council agenda, administers oaths
of office, and serves as notary public for the Town. |

The Assistant Town Clerk is responsible
for a variety of paraprofessional accounting tasks including payroll,
utility billing and collection, privilege license billing and
collections, cemetery administration, budgetary accounting, assisting
with year end audit procedures, generating a variety of financial
reports, and performing related fiscal and administrative tasks. |

The Oakboro Town Hall houses both the
Clerk's Office and the Police Department. Contact the clerks office for
items concerning streets, streetlights, water and sewer issues, water or sewer bills and garbage collection. You can also contact the clerks office to purchase cemetery lots (click here for fees) and inquire about business/privilege licenses. |
