| The Oakboro Presbyterian Church is being
restored to its 1915 state by the museum. It will serve as a community
gathering place and for small weddings and events. |

house memorabilia of the heyday years of the railroad. The facility will be
in a park-like setting with walking trails and picnic area. |

Regional Museum of History |
The Oakboro Regional Museum of History
provides permanent exhibits about the origin of the town, its people and
institutions. Normally open on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and Thursday from
10-12, group tours can be arranged at any
time.The Museum is the permanent home for Native American
artifacts from the nearby Ledbetter Ford site. Materials dating 10,000 years
ago are displayed along with other artifacts of a later era. |
