An Old Fashioned Christmas
An Old Fashioned Christmas is an annual event sponsored by the Greater Oakboro Business Association. Held on Saturday after the Thursday parade, the celebration begins at 10:00 and ends with a Childrenšs Candlelight Parade through downtown Oakboro.
   
Big Lick Bluegrass Festival

Big Lick Festival Park
Big Lick Festival Park is the home of Hinsonšs Auctions and the Big Lick Antique Festival and Gun & Knife Show. The park also hosts nationally sanctioned tractor pulls, country flea markets, the annual Big Lick Bluegrass Festival, and a lumberjack competition. www.hinsonauction.com
   
Dennis Vineyards
Dennis Vineyards is located east of Oakboro off Highway 24-27. Since beginning to sell to the public in 1998, production has increased to 75,000 bottles per year. A favorite of most people is the distinct Carlos white wine. The vineyard offers a wine club and special festivals throughout the year.  www.dennisvineyards.com
   
Oakborošs Annual Fourth of July Celebration
Oakborošs Annual Fourth of July Celebration celebrates our country with rides, a parade, entertainment. Sponsored by Oakboro fire and Rescue, the event is in its 47th year.

Oakborošs Christmas Parade
Oakborošs Christmas Parade is held on Thursday after Thanksgiving each year.  This night parade draws families for special rides, entertainment, and Santa Claus.
   
Oakboro Music Hall
Oakboro Music Hall attracts large audiences from a wide region for top of the line entertainment. Such performers as Jim & Jesse, Rhonda Vincent, Blue Highway, and Ralph Stanley have appeared. Bluegrass, beach, and gospel music
are favorites on Friday and Saturday nights.

Oakboro Presbyterian Church
The Oakboro Presbyterian Church is being restored to its 1915 state by the museum. It will serve as a community gathering place and for small weddings and events.
 
Oakboro Railroad Museum
Oakboro Railroad Museum is being built to house memorabilia of the heyday years of the railroad. The facility will be in a park-like setting with walking trails and picnic area.
 
Oakboro Regional Museum of History
The Oakboro Regional Museum of History provides permanent exhibits about the origin of the town, its people and institutions. Normally open on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and Thursday from 10-12, group tours can be arranged at any
time.

The Museum is the permanent home for Native American artifacts from the nearby Ledbetter Ford site. Materials dating 10,000 years ago are displayed along with other artifacts of a later era.

 
Oakboro Summer Nights Cruise-In
Oakboro Summer Nights Cruise-In is a monthly event.  Scheduled for the fourth Friday night in April through October and the fourth Saturday afternoon November through March, this event draws thousands to the downtown area.
